1) Neamt Fortress - Among the most representative historical monuments from Romania we find the fortress of Neamtz, situated in the city of Tg. Neamtz in the subcarpathian area of Moldavia .  The fortress was built during Petru I Musat ruling (1375-1391), in the period of the consolidation of the Moldavian feudal state. n its initial form, composed only by the central fort which closed a precinct bordered by 4 towers at the corners, the fortress fulfilled well its duties till the middle of the 14th century, when the fire guns were more used.

2) Voronet Monastery,
known as the ‘Sistine Chapel’ of the East, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in the town of Gura Humorului, Moldavia it is one of the famous painted monasteries from southern Bukovina, now in Suceava County. Between May and September 1488, Stephen III of Moldavia (known as “Stephen the Great”) built the VoroneÅ£ Monastery to commemorate the victory at Battle of Vaslui. The frescoes at VoroneÅ£ feature an intense shade of blue known in Romania as “VoroneÅ£ blue”. “The exterior walls — including a representation of the Last Judgment on the west wall — were painted in 1547 with a background of vivid cerulean blue. This blue is so vibrant that art historians refer to VoroneÅ£ blue the same way they do Titian red

3) Humor Monastery - The monastery of Humor is up the Humor River , near the town of Gura Humorului, among wooded hills. Around it, in the river valley, the village has grown that bears the name of the monastery, Manastirea Humorului. The Church of the Humor Monastery was entirely painted al fresco as well as Voronet, Moldovita, Sucevita, Arbor churches – all of them in Moldavia . The interior and the exterior walls have been adorned with traditional Orthodox fresco-paintings in Byzantine style. The exterior walls covered by a delicate painting make those five churches unique throughout the Orthodox world. The exterior fresco-paintings of the Humor Monastery’s Church were painted in 1535 by Toma Zugravul. The entire painting has conserved the original XVIth century character.

4) Moldovita Monastery was founded in 1532 by the Ruler Petru Rares, Stefan the Great’s illegitimate son. At first there was a fortified stone church erected by Alexander the Kind-Hearted (1400-1432), between 1402 and 1410, but it collapsed at the beginning of the 16th century because of the very heavy rains and ground sliding; its ruins can still be seen today. The Moldovita Monastery, the one we can see today, was rebuilt on safer ground, on the valley of the Moldovita River . The monastery consists of a fortified quadrangular enclosure with towers, thick walls (6 m high, 1.2 m wide) and brawny gates, with a magnificent painted church at its center.

5) Sucevita Monastery, the last one to be built, is the largest and finest of the painted monasteries of Bucovina . “A Poem in Green and Light”, it has its thousands of painted images on a background of emerald green. The fortress legacy of these mountain monasteries is nowhere clearer than inside and outside the massive walls at Sucevita. Set in a beautiful green valley- it is fortified like a citadel with watchtowers at its four corners. It is a square-shaped compound, surrounded by a wall of 100 meters on each side, six-meter high and three-meter thick.

6) Marginea: The Black Ceramics of Marginea are well known all over the world.
The traditional Romanian pottery is among the most beautiful in Europe . The ceramics articles distinguish through the forms’ elegance and the decoration. The traditional ceramics are shaped at the pottery wheel. Its burning is usually made in horizontal stoves through two techniques: with oxidation and without oxidation. As a result it is obtained the red and the black ceramics. The folkloric pottery gathers traditional elements marked by the life conditions and by the evolution of the aesthetic taste. In Moldavia there is much variety in the ceramics forms and characteristics of the old Greek-Roman ceramics are also present. The decoration of the ceramics vases is sober and the chromatics are reduced to a few main colours, which gives the ceramics from this region, a special feature. Highly appreciated are the vases from black ceramics made at Marginea in Suceava County (black ceramics, stone polished).
